The hotel had a mix of good and bad aspects. I found my belongings mysteriously removed from my room, which was quite unsettling. On the positive side, the hotel staff were helpful when we had to switch rooms due to a strange individual, and security promptly handled a late-night disturbance. The room cleanliness and general atmosphere were not up to par, likely influenced by the unsettling events around the hotel.

The hotel's location was perfect, allowing me to easily access various places nearby while feeling safe. The service was fantastic, with a smooth check-in process and a credit back on one night's cost, though there were some rude interactions. The dining experience was average, as the homemade yogurt was a highlight, but other options were not as good. The rooms, located near the stairway in a quieter area away from street activity, were very basic but had clean mattresses and pads.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The location was convenient, close to Lake Merritt, which was a plus. However, the rooms were very basic and not clean, and there were some concerning issues around the hotel. The service from the staff was kind and helpful, but the overall hotel experience was lacking.
